being a chemical engineer

A chemist performs new chemical reactions and makes new products. He is interested in what happens at a molecular level.

While a chemical engineer turns this new idea to something feasible. Such as making it to a live large scale chemical process. His interest range from the suitability of the raw materials and the reactor design to the production seperation. the process captial and operating cost and everything including piping, heat exchangers and waste treatment. Chemical engineers work at chemcial plants and research labs.

It's not what is happening to you now,
or what has happened in your past,
that determines who you become.
Rather, it's your decisions about
what you focus on, what things mean to you,
and what you are going to do about them,
that will determine your ultimate destiny.
